Canadian Provinces and Territories

How many Provinces and Territories does Canada have?
In June 1979, 12 stamps were issued for the Canada Day celebration.
The set (shown above) shows the flags of the 2 Territories and
10 Canadian provinces.
That was in 1979.

Now, there are still 10 Canadian Provinces but already
3
Territories with the addition of Nunavut in 1999.

The main difference between a Canadian territory and a province
is that a Canadian province derives its powers
directly from the Crown
, according to the Constitution Act of 1867.
Territories get their powers from the Canadian federal government.
