Have you read a Greg Iles book?
Not a lot of readers know him (or maybe it is just me). It was accidental that I picked up his novel Dead Sleep in one of my library trips, and I got hooked ever since.
Iles writes about exciting and interesting characters. The stories are tight and the books are guaranteed hard to put down (or turn off in the case of audio CDs).
His books have really caught my attention. Iles does not have a pattern, no definite genre in his novels, and I feel it is a different author everytime I start on a novel.
If suspense, thriller, and action is what you look for in a novel, try Greg Iles. You will definitely come back for more. Be warned though, for the more conservative readers, most of his books are highly mature content.
I just finished Third Degree and it the best I've read so far. Kind of safe (meaning, not much - in terms of sexual content) -- but heart pumping all the way. It was like a movie in my mind while I was listening to it.
