Car Plates

Another favorite deblogging activity -- looking out for eye catching personalized car plates.

I wish I had the opportunity to take photos of "Pinay, Eh" and "Maginoo". I swear I've seen seen them around and will definitely take photos once our paths will cross again.

Retail Therapy

Needing retail therapy?

A trip to the dollar store is sometimes good enough for me. I spend most of the time in my "favorites" section. That section where they have scrapbook paper, embellishments, stickers, flowerettes, buttons, etc.

I would check what is new since I was there last, look at each pack, touch it, imagine where I will place them, evaluate it's cost (even at $1), then move to the next.

My latest outing cost $3 + tax. Recession.

Toronto Celebrates 175 years

Today, March 6, 2009 marks Toronto's 175th year.

A day-long party in Nathan Phillips Square will usher in the 175th anniversary of the incorporation of the City of Toronto. City Hall will turn into an exhibition hall featuring art installations, the spoken word, dance and music that celebrate the heritage of the city. Special programming will commemorate the City's early history. City museums will be free all day.

How do you think Toronto looked 175 years ago?

"This was quite a different city in 1834. There were less than 10,000 people living in the town - now there's 2.7 million people living in the city, up to six (million) are living in the urban area."

Back in Business

One deblogging activity we missed for several weeks is going to York University on Saturdays. We had a lull during the 6 week strike. D does a lot of his school projects at York on Saturdays and now it is back to business.

From our place to York and back = 45-50 minutes (excluding prep time and assuming normal traffic)

Do 2x for drop off and pick-up = 100 minutes

Throw in Sundays when deadlines loom.

Not complaining. . .
